Beyond all the complaints and atrocities that have shaped our mind with great dilemma and confusion the current time is the best one. The mentality which is prevalent among the masses can be seen as a repercussion of change in the pace of time that has always excite us to speed up to make ourselves sustain against all the odds. One can doubt about the reasons behind saying current time as the best one but the matter of fact is when seen in a positive context it has given us a plethora of opportunities.

 

Taking into account a few out of many privileges that we got in this era where the sky is the limit for those who can implement practically whatever they have envisaged in the form of their life goals. Why so? It is because today we live in a world that is inundated with information and technology. The era can be seen as a golden time because as mentioned it is an era of information technology that can nurture our dreams & turn them into reality.

 

There is always an uproar that criticizes the negativities of this era but countering this we can also see the positives that make us possible to get our goals in a meagre time which could not be dreamt in previous times. At times things seem too unrealistic but when taken every single step to get the negativities aside then things are fruitful. What was considered impossible in yesteryears, today it is as easy as a flick of a second.

 

Today, learning has come to our doorstep or one-click away. In the era of information technology, we have seen a drastic shift from a traditional to a contemporary outlook. It has generated positive vibes throughout the globe and makes it easy to share a sense of togetherness around the corners. Because of the IT revolution, the world is seen as a hub to achieve par excellence and create a niche for those who were always reluctant to come into the mainstream due to a lack of information and knowledge.

 

The major shifts are not limited to certain areas but have got manifestation over various events that are always needed for sustaining our journey towards development that enables us to find the solution to our problems. IT has enabled us to revolutionize various sectors from education, agriculture, communication, power, energy, manufacturing, service etc. Under this advancement, various technologies are developed or under development which has changed the pace and trend of working in various fields.

 

Considering a few out of many advancements today education is not confined to our regular classes but has come a long way to smart and online classes which are not beneficial for individuals but masses are getting an opportunity to learn from the best talents available. This form of learning not only facilitated the students or learners but has paved a way to demonstrate and assimilate that knowledge and skills which will be requisite in future.

 

Agriculture is not left behind in this case as with the inclusion of modern technology it has become possible to get prior information regarding climatic and weather changing patterns which have affected the farm production and have posed a threat to the fulfilment of the world’s need. Now the information is not subjected to the departments but has provided convenience to the farmers who are directly associated with farming for their livelihood.

 

Communications around the globe have seen a huge change as the nations around the world are just one click away. The internet revolution has brought nations so close that it would be imperative to understand the gist of this revolution. The cross-cultural gaps are somewhere bridged with this initiative. Today, information moves so fast in the form of data transfer around the globe which has allowed us to make things favourable as per our needs.

 

Information Technology has provided a varied range of solutions which help in increasing efficiency and productivity of the power sector by setting up a distribution network, distribution load management etc. It is also acknowledged to be very crucial for efficient operation and management of all industrial systems.

 

Information technology can be used to enable energy utilities to improve their efficiency and can be seen as an important tool to enable the energy utilities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of transmission and distribution networks, as this technology can be useful for all parts of operation and maintenance.

 

The manufacturing sector is not far from taking the benefits that have been possible with the induction of Information Technology into its operations and management systems. IT has enormously been used in the manufacturing sector regarding product designing and development, product modification etc. It has not only provided ease in the organizational operations and functions and has been so reliable in maintaining interdepartmental synergies which is always a requisite for business growth.

 

One of the sectors that have been revolutionized by IT is the service sector which has played a pivotal role in the economy of any nation. With every second this sector has to be cautious to make relevant choices and decisions to cater to the changing needs of the society at large. This sector is always prone to the radical shift of choices that is challenging and if not taken care then things could be as adverse as it becomes really hard to incur losses.

 

It would be short if not talked about the employment generated that has been possible because of Information Technology. In a developing nation like India, the IT industry's revenues are at an estimated $190 billion, growing at 7.7 per cent on a year-on-year basis and by 2025, they are expected to reach $350 billion. The sector has also generated 4 a million jobs and provided indirect employment to 10 million (As per data available till August 2020).

 

The list is quite long of the different areas that have been benefitted through Information Technology. The moral of the story states that in this globalised world, IT is seen as a necessity for the future but at times can be so contemporary which brings ease in maintaining the pace for maintaining operations and management of businesses around the world. It not only caters to the needs of the people around the world but has the potential to be very conducive for the developing nations to strengthen their positions in the global arena.
